You will need to link your e-mail account before using any of the features offered by Dashfox. The email connection allows Dashfox to see when you receive new lead, and to send follow-up emails on your behalf.
Step 1: Create an App Password for your AOL account
To access your AOL Mail account from a 3rd party app like Dashfox, you'll need to generate and use an app password. An app password is a randomly generated code that gives a non-AOL app permission to use your AOL account.
When creating an app password, use a browser that you've used to sign into AOL Mail for several days in a row and avoid using Incognito mode. If this isn’t successful, use webmail or the official AOL App to access your email.
First, sign in to your AOL Account Security page. Click "Generate app password" or "Generate and manage app passwords", then "Get Started." Enter "Dashfox" in the text field, then hit Generate Password. Save this generated password for step 3.
Step 2: Log In and Go to the Email Link Tab
Navigate to app.dashfox.com/advisors and log in using your Dashfox credentials. You can find the "Email Link" tab on the bottom of the left-hand navigation menu.
Step 3. Authenticate with AOL
Click the "Link Another Account" button. Enter your email address, ending with @aol.com. When presented with providers, select "View all providers" then AOL Mail.
On the following screen, enter your AOL email address and the app password you've just created.
The next screen will ask you to grant permissions to Dashfox, so that we can send/receive email on your behalf. All the permissions must be granted for Dashfox to function properly. If you have questions about the scope of these permissions and why they are necessary, please reach out to support@dashfox.com for details.
Once your email is successfully linked, you should be returned to the Email Link tab and see your email listed. If the status is not immediately listed as "running", please wait 10 seconds to allow the email to sync before refreshing your browser.
